Manchester United target Coentrao sent off for Madrid; last game in Spain?

The left-back received his marching orders on Wednesday night for two bookable offences in Los Blancos’ 2-0 win over Osasuna.

Fabio Coentrao may well have played his last game for Real Madrid this season, after the in-demand left-back featured against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.

However, the Portugal international did not cover himself with cover, as he was dismissed after 84 minutes for his second bookable offence.

The former Benfica defender has been heavily linked with a loan move away from the Santiago Bernabeu during this transfer window, with Manchester United believed to be closing in on Coentrao’s signature.

The game was Coentrao’s first start for Madrid since November, and may well be his last outing in a white shirt this season as a move to England looks to be getting closer if reports in Spain are to be believed.
