Agent: 'Ancelotti turned down €20m Premier League offer for Morata!'

Alvaro Morata

Carlo Ancelotti said Alvaro Morata would be going nowhere and it appears he meant it.

The Real Madrid striker has been subject to a protracted transfer saga this January – with Arsenal repeatedly linked with a loan move for the 21-year-old.

Yet any progress on a deal has been slow to materialise, with reports suggesting that Serie A duo Juventus and Inter had entered the frame with eyes for an outright purchase.

Morata hasn’t featured in Los Blancos’ last four La Liga encounters whilst he last scored off of the bench in a 5-0 thrashing of Alemeria on November 23.

Despite the youngster’s lack of minutes and allegations that that manager has lost faith in him – Real Madrid boss Ancelotti has insisted the Spaniard won’t be on the move this month.

Surely the lack of game time afforded to Morata hasn’t supported this contention – but FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti has revealed just how much Ancelotti values the under-utilised striker.

“Ancelotti is crazy about Morata,” he said to Sport Mediaset. “And he’s in his plans for the future.

“So much so that, a few days ago, he said no to a €20m offer from a team in England.”

It’s a classic case of ‘name withheld’ from Bronzetti – but if true, such an act would be quite a statement from Ancelotti.

Was it Arsenal? It’s impossible to know, though if it indeed occurred and was the Gunners, it’s quite certain Arsene Wenger won’t be getting his hands on Morata now.

Focus has already largely turned to Julian Draxler – and seemingly will stay that way.

The saga may finally be over for the Spanish striker with this revelation, though don’t entirely count out this one playing out until deadline day – crazier things have happened on the transfer market.
