Eden's talented brother wants to join Anderlecht for the rest of the season.

Eden Hazard’s brother Thorgan could join Belgian champions Anderlecht on loan for the rest of the season, after revealing that he wants to end his spell at Zulte-Waregem.

Chelsea starlet Hazard has been on loan with Zulte-Waregem for the last 18 months and has been an unqualified success, taking them to within a whisker of the Belgian league title last season.

January, however, has seen an unsavoury tussle develop over his future. Anderlecht, alerted by Hazard’s form, voiced a desire to sign him on loan until the end of the season. Zulte-Waregem were upset by that approach, and last week it was widely reported in the Belgian media that Hazard would be staying at his current club until the end of the season.

However, today it appears that Hazard has taken matters into his own hands. According to Sky Sports, the 20-year-old winger has expressed a desire to join Anderlecht.

He told reporters in Belgium: “Yes, I want to go to Anderlecht. “I’ve just spoken with the manager and I’ve told him that it’s time to move on.

“I’m grateful for what the club have done for me, I’ve had a great time, but lots of players have left and I don't know if I can achieve what I want.

“I don't know if the cup game against Cercle Brugge was my last one, that depends on negotiations between the clubs.”

That adds a new dimension to the saga, but Hazard may still not get his wish, as he cannot leave Zulte-Waregem unless the club agree to cancel the loan agreement. So far, they have given no indication that they are willing to do so.

Hazard is desperate to win a place in the Belgium squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, while he also dreams of eventually joining his brother at Chelsea.
