The Dutchman announced himself as the next head coach of the Rossoneri on Tuesday – bringing an end to his playing career to take over for the axed Massimiliano Allegri.
The struggling giants moved into the round of 16 at the expense of the new boss’ former club Ajax – and it is towards the Eredivisie the ex-Netherlands international will reportedly look for reinforcements.
According to Calciomercato, the 37-year-old is intent on employing an attacking style of football in Milan – with his first target on the transfer market being Adam Maher.
The midfielder only just joined PSV Eindhoven from AZ Alkmaar in July for a fee of €7m – signing a five-year contract at the Philips Stadion after leaving the club of his youth.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur each were reportedly interested in the 20-year-old prior to his domestic switch, with a score of other sides from around Europe also waiting in the wings.
Maher indicated his desire to remain in the Netherlands for his development as a reason for snubbing top suitors abroad – though Calciomercato maintain a sizeable offer could see him move away from PSV already this month.
Seedorf is believed to be a great admirer of Maher’s and will speak with Milan transfer guru Adriano Galliani upon his arrival at Milanello about tabling a bid for the youngster’s services.
The Rossoneri will need to cut down their squad if they are to buy – as has been previously indicated – in order to raise funds with which to bring in the Dutchman.
