While Aaron Ramsey, prior to injury interrupting his exceptional season, was widely touted as the breakout performer and arguably the most influential midfielder the Premier League has to offer, Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil has lauded Tomas Rosicky as one of the best in the central zones in England.
The particular facet that Ozil highlighted was how much Rosicky enjoyed being on the ball, yet, statistically, he receives almost half as many touches as Ramsey had in the domestic campaign to date.
Both Ozil and Ramsey also see more of the ball - and do more with it - when they are operating in the business end of the field.

Where Rosicky tails Ramsey closely though is how frequently he assists a clear shot on goal, with Ozil clearly ahead with a three per game average statistic.

Speaking to the club's official website, Ozil said: 'Tomas belongs to the best midfielders in the Premier League. When you see how much he gives for the team and how he enjoys being on the ball it makes us happy to have a player like that in our ranks.'
With an 85% passing accuracy, a 66% tackling success and 16 chances created, Rosicky can brag all-round midfield play, however, he does possess traits that are laborious to prove with statistics alone - such as his intuitive link-up play with his team-mates, his vision, the actual passes he picks and his general movement on the pitch.
Rosicky's current contract expires in June. There is a clause in his deal, though, where he will be offered an automatic one year extension should he make 25 appearances in competitive fixtures - he is currently on 21 in all competitions.
