Tottenham transfer latest: Chadli wants exit, target's transfer request

Some of the latest transfer stories featuring Tottenham Hotspur on this Wednesday evening.

Tottenham could lose Nacer Chadli in this transfer window as the midfielder looks for game time ahead of the World Cup according to the London Evening Standard.

Chadli signed from FC Twente for £7m during the summer with his agent Daniel Evrard hinting the player will have to elsewhere if he wants to play for Belgium in Brazil.

Evrard is quoted saying: ‘We haven’t spoken to Tottenham yet but I know there are clubs interested in him. There are a lot of players in the same situation who are not in the team and they want to play in the World Cup so there is a market for a lot of clubs.’

Spurs target Steven Defour will ask to leave Porto according to his agent Paul Stefani, with Anderlecht a club that is mentioned as a potential destination for the player.

FourFourTwo reports that the 25-year-old midfielder will ask to leave the Portuguese club with Stefani quoted telling ‘Steven will tell his club he wants to leave because he wants to play in the World Cup.

‘Of course Anderlecht has a chance but Steven receives phone calls from other agents who promise him a transfer to Tottenham.

‘It is normal that when you hear the name of Tottenham, we want to think.’

One target that Spurs look as though they will miss out on is Barcelona midfielder Isaac Cuenca according to TalkSport.

Tim Sherwood is believed to have been interested in taking the 22-year-old on loan but Cuenca is set to rejoin Ajax on loan for a second spell.
