Few outside the Blackburn faithful (and the players themselves) will think there is a shock on the cards tonight. After all, the Etihad Stadium has seem some almighty tonkings for some of the Premier League’s top clubs already this season.
But this is the FA Cup – the competition built on giant-killings. And while Rovers are not exactly minnows, they are certainly in for their biggest challenge of the season this evening.
Manuel Pellegrini has so many players at his disposal that there is no such thing as an easy game against the Blues anymore. And with City's players reportedly targeting the quadruple, do not expect them to let up for even a second tonight.
This will be the eighth time these two sides have met in this competition, with City winning three games and Blackburn successful twice.
The FA Cup final is beginning to seem like a second-home for the Blues, after they contested it for two of the last three seasons, and you can be sure Pellegrini will want to make that three in four.
What do you think the result will be this evening?
