According to the Italian press, Galatasaray have cast their gaze towards Premier League target Andrea Ranocchia.
As such he’s been linked with a host of English clubs in the opening half of the season, most notably Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The most recent reports of a switch from San Siro for the Italian paired him with a move to Stamford Bridge to allow Inter to raise funds for Erik Lamela, whilst it was claimed Norwich sensationally had a bid of £8.3m for his services rejected.
According to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Galatasaray are the latest to have shown interest in Ranocchia, sending a scout to watch the Nerazzurri defender against Chievo Verona.
The spotter sent to San Siro will have been sorely disappointed as Ranocchia was an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw opposite the Flying Donkeys – seeing no action after being substituted on 83 minutes last time out.
Di Marzio has maintained that the Turkish giants remain keen on the Italy international’s services, though have not made an official bid at this point.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio acknowledged rumours earlier on Monday of a potential departure for Ranocchia, noting any offers received will be considered.
Ranocchia could also be used for this purpose – should Premier League suitors or Galatasaray be inclined to submit a bid to Inter.
The central defender’s current employers paid out a total of €19 million to purchase his rights from Genoa over the course of 2010.
