Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is currently out of action with an ankle injury and it appears he’s gone back to old club Corinthians while he recuperates.
The Brazilian moved to White Hart Lane last summer in a deal worth £17 million but his fondness and links to his old club have not evaporated as he’s been receiving treatment with the Brazilian team.
It’s not uncommon for managers to allow players to go overseas while they are carrying knocks and niggles in order to aid their recovery as they look to get back playing as soon as possible.
However, it’s strange that Paulinho seems to be receiving medical help from his old club when Tottenham have one of the best medical teams in Europe.
Tottenham fans shouldn’t worry because there’s not a chance that the midfielder will be moving back to Brazil any time soon and it must only be seen as a positive gesture on the part of the club, which allows Paulinho to go back home and spend time with old friends.
If the spell in Brazil gets him back into the first team faster then who can complain?
