Manchester United transfer news: Moyes ‘pulls out of Spain trip’, instead heads to Italy

David Moyes

A select round-up of the latest transfer news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United’s scouts have generated plenty of headlines in recent weeks, after they have been seen at a number of matches in both Portugal and Spain. But now David Moyes has himself been seeing taking in a match – between Juventus and Cagliari – prompting copious amounts of speculation to occur.

The Daily Mail suggested the United boss could have been watching Cagliari defender Davide Astori, who has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford. While midfielder Claudio Marchisio – who began the game on the bench – also gets a shout.

But then of course there is Paul Pogba, who had already generated some huge headlines yesterday morning and has now been tipped in some quarters to make a dramatic, and highly unlikely, return to Manchester.

While Moyes was in Italy, Phil Neville was reportedly in Spain to watch Rayo Vallecano midfielder Saul Niguez.

The teenager is currently on loan from parent-club Atletico Madrid, and has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Mirror claims Neville was sent after Moyes pulled out of the trip, no doubt prompting further speculation that something was indeed happening in Italy.

But only time will tell…
