Man United man could agree Fiorentina switch by end of week

Fiorentina are on the brink of signing Manchester United midfielder Anderson on loan and a deal could be done within the next few days.

Fiorentina have admitted their interest in Manchester United man Anderson and now seem to be closing in on his signature on loan for the rest of the season with a deal in the offing.

The Viola sit fourth in Serie A five points ahead of Verona in fifth place and five points behind third-placed Napoli.

Vincenzo Montella's men were dealt a massive blow with the loss of 14-goal top scorer Giuseppe Rossi to a serious knee injury sustained during their game against Livorno.

And Fiorentina are set to enter the market to try and bring in some new faces to regain some momentum in their bid for Champions League qualification.

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been on the Tuscans' shopping list for some time and it appears that Montella's club have made their move.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Fiorentina are just one step away from completing a deal with United that will see Anderson arrive at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and the final stages could be completed within days.

The transfer would be a loan until the end of the current campaign with the option for the deal to be made permanent in the summer.

However, the report also suggests that Fiorentina may be ready to sign Anderson outright for around £6.6m should Manchester United reject the idea of a loan.

Anderson has been surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this term and has made just four appearances, prompting widespread suggestions that he will move on.

Fiorentina are said to be impressed by Anderson's international experience and see him as just the man to help raise the level of the squad for the second half of the season.
