Seedorf is a legend at Milan having played for the Rossoneri for a decade between 2002 and 2012 winning two Serie A titles, two Champions League trophies, the Coppa Italia and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 37-year-old is currently finishing off his playing career in Brazil at Botafogo but many Italian press sources suggest that he could end that adventure to begin his coaching career with Milan.
"There isn't much to say with regards to what has been written about Clarence however some of the things aren't correct," the player's agent Deborah Martin is quoted as saying by Gazzetta.it.
"I personally deal with Clarence's contract with Botafogo and there is a clause in it that allows him to leave the club at any moment without penalty as long as he doesn't go and play for another club.
"I'd also like to underline that Seedorf now has everything in place to coach and has done everything necessary in Brazil and Holland."
Seedorf's main challenger for the Milan bench appears to be former teammate Pippo Inzaghi, who is the current Milan youth coach.
It is possible that the two men could be given the job jointly but for the time being the players have been put under the control of Mauro Tassotti.
