All the latest news and views from Stamford Bridge.
Numerous reports are now circulating from many parts of Europe indicating that, out of all Premier League participants, it will be Chelsea who make the biggest dip into the transfer pool in the mid-season market to date.
By tomorrow, there will likely be official confirmation regarding two transfer deals - most significantly; Nemanja Matic's £20.75m return to Stamford Bridge from Benfica, as reported by all prominent Portuguese sporting press including Record, O Jogo and A Bola.
The latest is that Matic will fly to London tomorrow, Tuesday, in order to finalise his contractual agreement with his erstwhile employer, snubbing a move to Manchester United who were apparently also interested but, as of yet, there is no confirmation that United's interest developed into a bid.
The move will bring in to question Chelsea's youth policy. The club have a number of talented, young players on their books such as Romelu Lukaku, Thorgan Hazard and Thibaut Courtois and, in the case of the former and latter, they are no doubt ready for first team football but for different reasons have had to receive that away from Stamford Bridge.
Matic received limited chances in West London, was sold, flourished and has now been bought back - at an expense of £18m.
Chelsea, though, will hope to offset this criticism by reminding their detractors they are making at least £17m out of the deal that takes Kevin de Bruyne to Wolfsburg.

And finally, Jose Mourinho has lifted the lid on one of the biggest loves in his life - Chelsea. He is quoted by talkSPORT to have said: 'I'm not here thinking about my next move because I don't want to have a next move. I will have a next move if and when Chelsea decides it's time for that. I'm here to stay. I belong to Chelsea, Chelsea belong to me. I gave a lot to Chelsea in the past but they also gave a lot to me. This is a different professional relationship.'
