Manchester United transfer news: Sensational £30m return and three to leave?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United’s reported transfer activity always generates plenty of column-inches, but today the rumour mill has gone into overdrive.

The Mail on Sunday reports that Anderson, Nani and Wilfried Zaha could all be shown the exit door this month, with the Brazilian tipped for a move to Italian side Fiorentina.

The price has not been reported, but the report claims it is unlikely to get anywhere near what Sir Alex Ferguson paid for him when he arrived as a teenager from FC Porto.

The same story claims Nani will soon join former club Sporting Lisbon on loan, while Wilfried Zaha is set for a temporary spell at Cardiff City.

Moving from possible departures to potential arrivals now, and the Telegraph reports that United remain in talks with Fabio Coentrao’s representatives over a possible loan move for the Real Madrid left-back.

A similar move fell through on transfer deadline day last summer, but the report claims the Portuguese is keen to revive the deal. Why United need a left-back given the fine form of Patrice Evra is a question Moyes will need to answer if the move does go through.

But the biggest transfer story of the day comes from the Sunday Express, which claims Paul Pogba could be set for a dramatic return to United.

The Frenchman left somewhat acrimoniously at the end of his contract, and has since shone for both Juventus and his country. But United have reportedly been alerted to the news that Pogba would be open to a return to the Premier League.

This one should be taken not so much with a pinch of salt as a whole bag of it.
