CONFIRMED: Newcastle United & Manchester City line-ups

St James Park

Here is how Newcastle United and Manchester City will line-up for this afternoon’s match.

Newcastle United starting XI: Krul, Santon, S Taylor, Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa, Anita, Tiote, Cabaye, Sissoko, Gouffran, Remy

Subs: Elliot, Haidara, Gosling, Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Ben Arfa, Cisse

Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Kompany, Kolarov, Nasri, Toure, Fernandinho, Silva, Negredo, Dzeko

Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Lescott, Clichy, Garcia, Milner, Navas

This afternoon’s match will prove just how far Newcastle United have come this season, as they welcome Manchester City to town.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are revving up nicely for the second half of the season and are starting to look as formidable away as they do at home. But this will not be easy for the Blues, who know a victory will take them back to the top of the Premier League table.

City are unbeaten in their last 14 matches against the Magpies, and it will take an almight effort from Alan Pardew’s men to stop it becoming 15. But Newcastle’s three-match losing streak does not bode well.

The hosts are without the injured Fabricio Coloccini and the suspended Mathieu Debuchy, while Pellegini welcomes back Yaya Toure, Micah Richards and Jesus Navas after recent injuries.

What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
