The €8 million target for Arsenal - and several Ligue 1 sides plays his next home game v Dijon on the 21st of this month.
Time will tell if he is still an Auxerre player at that point in time.
That was how I ended one of the stories that went up on our site yesterday evening - after Paul-Georges Ntep again grabbed headlines in France.
The talented youngster scored in Auxerre’s 1-1 draw with Arles-Avignon - which came one month after he celebrated his goal against Niort by posting this picture on Instagram - with this cryptic message…
“Last match at the Abbe Dechamps.”
Seemingly a goodbye to fans after what he felt would be his final game for Auxerre at home.
Now of course all the pieces are there which make you feel Arsenal kight snap up the €8m rated forward. He can play up front or on the wing, he stated he would like to sign for Arsenal - while Arsene Wenger recently said while speaking as a studio guest on French programme Telefoot:
“Paul Georges Ntep has the potential to have a great future. Whether he will or not all depends on his mind.”
So certainly a move could be on the cards before his next home fixture.
And judging by his Instagram once again that might be the case.
His ticket is visible in the picture ... and you can clearly see his destination is London St Pancras.
He may very well be off to do some shopping, and Arsenal fans have been stung with this sort of post before.
Remember when Brazilian international Bernard was linked this summer and posted a picture of himself in London.
It got Gunners fans very excited - but it later emerged this was simply his stop over on the way to Ukraine, to sign for Shakhtar Donetsk.
But on this occasion perhaps Arsenal fans will be left smiling.
Here is the picture …
