There were reports yesterday that AC Milan are considering a move for Chelsea man Michael Essien and the player's agent isn't ruling the switch out.
Essien was a key figure for Chelsea after signing in 2005 and has seen Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup glory at Stamford Bridge.
However, in recent times the 31-year-old hasn't been able to secure regular first-team football and has admitted that he will look for a fresh challenge in the January window.
"Michael wants to play regularly and it's possible he could leave Chelsea as soon as January," the player's representative Fabien Piveteau told Fantagazzetta.com.
"He could end up in Italy - we will see what happens. We have received offers from big European clubs but we only listened to them after Essien met with Jose Mourinho.
"I haven't had any contact with Milan but they are a great club who are in the Champions League and it would certainly be an option to consider if it presented itself.
"Could he leave on loan? That's something to discuss with Chelsea. Whoever wants to sign Michael will have to come an agreement with Chelsea and then I'll try and find the best arrangement for him."
