Chelsea beat Hull City 2-0 earlier today.

Chelsea defeated Hull City 2-0 at the KC Stadium earlier today, courtesy of goals from Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres.

The Belgian play-maker continued his outstanding form to put the Blues ahead 11 minutes after half-time, firing a low shot past Tigers' 'keeper Allan McGregor.

Torres doubled the visitors' advantage - and calmed their nerves - with a late second set up by Willian.

Jose Mourinho's men knew that a win would send them to the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester City and Arsenal playing on Sunday and Monday respectively, and the Blues did not waste their opportunity.

They ensured the hosts had just two shots on target in the entire game, and dominated possession, keeping 56% of the ball.

The result means Chelsea are a point clear at the top of the table having played a game more than those directly below them.  Hull remain in 10th place.
