The top five players linked with signing for Liverpool this week: Morata, M'Vila and more

Anfield Kop

Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Hellas Verona, Dynamo Kiev and Burnley stars all feature.

Liverpool remain in a great position in the Premier League as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to mount a title challenge and consolidate a Champions League place ahead of next season.

Liverpool are carrying injuries to key players at the moment, which alongside Rodgers’ comments about the need to strengthen his squad, could produce some very impressive signings for the club before the end of the month.

Here are the top five players to have been linked with moves to Anfield this week.

1) Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)

£1.7 million is what it will cost any side to loan Morata over the second half of the season, which falls into Liverpool’s budgets. ESPN are the latest source to report Liverpool’s interest with Spanish paper Marca suggesting Rodgers is very interested in signing the forward.

2) Yann M’Vila (Rubin Kazan)

The Metro has suggested that the 23-year-old midfielder is keenly admired by Brendan Rodgers and his agent has not tried to deny that there is interest in him from English clubs.

“I will not deny there is interest from many European clubs, including English teams. We will see what happens,” said Werner Baader.

3) Jorginho (Hellas Verona)

Liverpool are in the same boat as the other Premier League sides interested in Jorginho, after his agent said he could leave the Italian club this month if a very good offer comes in for the 22-year-old.

4) Andriy Yarmolenko (Dynamo Kiev)

Reports have suggested that Liverpool will fail in attempts to sign Mohamed Salah from FC Basel with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg likely to offer more cash. That’s prompted Yarmolenko as an alternative although he’s valued at close to double (£15 million) the fee of Salah (£8 million).

5) Danny Ings (Burnley)

Danny Ings has been one of the in form players in the Championship this season. The Burnley striker has 20 goals so far and the Daily Mail has suggested Liverpool are looking at him as an £8 million signing who could come in and revitalise the attack.
