As reported in The Birmingham Mail the agent of player said ''Aston Villa have indeed indicated that they are interested in Defour, but it's not really concrete yet. There are also more teams that I cannot say''.

Along with his international reputation, he became highly regarded in his home nation during his spells with Genk and Standard Liege, prompting Portuguese champions Porto to snap him up for a bargain €6m.
2) Paul Lambert's pursuit of his former midfielder Wes Hoolahan has been an on-going discussion for the past couple of weeks. According to The Mirror, the saga could go on into next week as Norwich are demanding £2m for their playmaker but Villa are offering barely half of that amount.

Pellegrini insisted that the England international wouldn't be going anywhere in this transfer window and reiterated his importance to the title contenders. However, he offered little confidence to the player over his long term future and It could perhaps be one for next season.
Nahki Wells, Giorgios Samaras and John Guidetti have also been linked with moves to Villa Park as actively look to improve their fire power. However, all three players are wanted by other clubs with Samaras likely to end up at Hull, Guidetti heavily linked with Wigan Athletic and Nahki Wells closing in on move to Huddersfield.
