During December – Manchester City’s away form showed signs of significant improvement after they overcame both West Bromwich Albion and Fulham on the road whilst still managing to maintain their 100% record at home when it came under its biggest test yet.
They managed to put six past top of the table Arsenal whilst coming from behind to beat Liverpool on Boxing Day. Other home wins came against Swansea City and Crystal Palace whilst the only dropped points came in a 1-1 draw against Southampton.
It is probably a sign of Manchester City’s season gathering momentum in the past month with their away form a big issue going into December having lost four games away from home – with three of those defeats coming against sides in the bottom half.
Manchester United boss David Moyes was nominated after an encouraging end to December which saw his side win four games on the bounce after starting the month poorly by losing two home games on the bounce against Everton and Newcastle United.
Jose Mourinho was also nominated with his side only dropping the five points from seven games in during the month, whilst Roberto Martinez was also shortlisted after Everton continued their impressive run - where they also dropped just the five points in December.
