Liverpool transfer news: Reds revive winger interest, target rules out move

Welcome To Anfield

A round-up of the key transfer stories and more involving Liverpool Football Club this Friday morning.

Liverpool are to reignite their interest in Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old was linked with Liverpool in the summer, and has scored eight goals in 16 appearances for Dinamo Kiev this season.

Yarmolenko is set to be worth £15m as Liverpool are looking for alternatives to Mohamed Salah from Basel, who is rated near the same price by his club.

Target Alvaro Morata unlikely to Real Madrid on loan despite the Daily Mirror insisting a deal is edging closer.

Carlo Ancelotti said after last night's Copa del Rey fixture: "We have not changed our idea at all, Morata stays here and he has not told us that he wants to leave.'

One transfer target that also looks set to stay at their club is Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic. Both Liverpool and Manchester United were said to be interested in the player, but the 25-year-old says he is only thinking about his current club.

He told FourFourTwo: ‘I have important matches ahead of me and additional responsibilities as captain of the team, so leaving is not something I’m considering now.’

Midfielder Lucas Leiva has told the Liverpool Echo that Luis Suarez signing a new contract could attract more top class talent to the club.

Lucas said: ‘It showed the ambition of the club and it showed how happy Luis is here. He’s playing even better than last season and is scoring a lot of goals.

‘I think we have a very good team but you can always improve and that’s what the club is trying to do in this window.

‘Luis signing will help as everyone would love to have Luis Suarez as a team-mate.’
