A round up of the latest transfer stories and rumours about Everton.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that a deal for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady is close. A deal is expected to be agreed between all parties which will see the Republic of Ireland star make a move to Goodison Park at the end of the season.
Dutch newspaper Tubantia has suggested that Everton will make a move for 11 goal Serbian attacker Dusan Tadic. He only moved to Dutch club FC Groningen for £6.8 million a year ago and reports suggest that the Toffees will have to pay a fee of around €12 million to get their man.
Another forward Everton have been linked with is Michy Batshuayi of Standard Liege. Roberto Martinez was thought to be keen on an £8 million deal but a deal may be difficult due to strained relations between the club and the player’s agent, with Standard questioning the agent’s actions.
Bookmakers made Everton favourite to sign West Ham United star Ravel Morrison earlier this week. Morrison’s impact at West Ham this season has led to speculation he could join a club in a better position this month, with Everton thought to be interested in him.
Martinez has said that no key players will be leaving the club this month. Some Everton stars have been linked with high profile moves away from the club this month but the Spaniard says no deals will happen.
“You can imagine that the fans would be a little bit worried that we don't lose any of our top performers and I can guarantee that this won't be happening; we won't be losing any of them,” said Martinez.
Everton are set to offer full back Seamus Coleman a new contract at Goodison Park. The 25-year-old has been in good form for the club this season and a new deal could eradicate the chance of any side poaching him in the summer window.
“I'm sure at the end of the season we will look at his contract. His role in the team is growing, he is getting more important. He is happy at Everton,” said the boss.
A report has linked Everton with suggested moves for five free agents this summer. Several key stars will be available when their contracts expire at the end of this season including Fernando of FC Porto and Blaise Matuidi of Paris Saint-Germain.
