Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wasted no time in the transfer market since becoming Cardiff's new manager.
The Norwegian has been in charge of the Welsh outfit for only a week but that hasn't stopped him from already recruiting Heerenveen winger Magnus Eikrem.
And if certain reports are to be believed, the former Manchester United striker isn't going to stop there, with Mats Moller Daehli also closing in on a move to Cardiff, while Wilfried Zaha and Mame Diouf are being targeted, as well.
It could be a busy couple of weeks for Vincent Tan.
Eikrem & Daehli
The first signing of the Solskjaer reign, perhaps rather unsurprisingly, is a Norwegian international. And like many of the Cardiff manager's other reported targets, he has plied his trade at Manchester United at some time or other.
Indeed, 23-year-old winger Eikrem previously worked with Solksjaer when he was United reserve coach. The new Cardiff boss has described him as a "quarterback" and the man himself - signed from Dutch side Heerenveen - looks to be settling in well.
Another Norwegian has also been linked with a move to Wales, with Daehli expected to be unveiled on the same day as Eikrem. And, once again, the 18-year-old used to be a member of Manchester United's academy. A further link exists in that the midfielder is at Molde, Solksjaer's former club.
Fans should not consider the transfer a done deal yet, however, with no confirmation coming from the club. But reports in WalesOnline have suggested that Daehli, like Eikrem, has agreed terms with Cardiff, as well as undergoing a medical.
The only current United player to interest Solskjaer is Wilfried Zaha, who could be the subject of a loan move away from Old Trafford this January.
Various sources have stated that the 21-year-old is desperate for a chance to play regular football away from Manchester, while the Guardian in particular have reported that Cardiff are the favourites to land Zaha's signature.
That same report suggests that Stoke and Newcastle are also interested in loaning the England Under-21 international, although Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has revealed that Zaha does not want to return to London.
Another reported target of Solskjaer's is Hannover striker Mame Diouf, with the German club's president announcing only yesterday that a formal bid has been made. But Hannover are not playing ball... for now, anyway.
"Cardiff wants him, I can confirm that. But he coach wants to keep him, so he stays,” president Martin Kind told Kicker.
Like Eikrem, Daehli and Zaha, Diouf also has a link with Manchester United, as the Bundesliga striker turned out at Old Trafford earlier in his career. This season, however, Diouf's focus has remained solely on Hannover, with the forward scoring five goals in 12 league appearances.
According to WalesOnline:
- Cardiff have been linked with a move for Blackpool's Tom Ince, although Swansea have confirmed their interest in the England Under-21 international.
- Crystal Palace midfielder Jonathan Williams is also on Cardiff's radar, although it is said that any interest will take longer to develop.
- Finally, the Bluebirds could sign another Molde player in goalkeeper Oliver Nyland, who reportedly flew out to an unknown destination from Oslo a few days ago.
