Sam Allardyce has since seen his side fall into 19th place in the table. The Hammers travel to Cardiff City this weekend to become Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first opponents as a manager in the Premier League.
2 – On New Year’s Day Kevin Nolan became the first player this season to be sent off twice. The West Ham midfielder collected a straight red card for an off the ball incident. His side went on to lose 2-1 at Fulham.
4 – Arsenal’s last four Premier League games have all been 0-0 at half-time. The Gunners have gone on to win 3 of those in the second half.
4 – Sunderland have picked up just 4 points from 10 matches against current bottom half opponents this season. The Black Cats travel to Fulham on Saturday who climbed out of the relegation zone on New Year’s Day with a win over West Ham. The Cottagers were 1-0 winners at the Stadium of Light on the opening day of the season.
7 – Wayne Rooney has received the most yellow cards in the Premier League this season. The Manchester United forward picked up 7 yellow cards throughout the whole of last season (27 matches).
7 – Stoke City are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games at the Britannia Stadium, winning 4 and drawing 3. The Potters host Liverpool on Sunday who have lost their last two away games in the top flight.
23 – Cardiff City's Steven Caulker has blocked the most shots in the Premier League so far this season. The centre-back isn’t expected to be called into so much action this weekend as his side host struggling West Ham on Saturday.
26 – Fulham’s Adel Taarabt has had the most shots in the Premier League this season of players who are yet to score a single goal. The midfielder on loan from Queens Park Rangers will continue his search for his first goal this season when Fulham host bottom-of-the-league Sunderland.
