The Italian international was reportedly watched by several Premier League clubs scouts when the perfect opportunity was presented at Loftus Road - when Italy played Nigeria in an international friendly.
On Christmas Eve he also seemed to deliver a Christmas present to any potential Premier League suitors - which is said to also include Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs - as he admitted he might be ready to leave Torino in pursuit of Champions League football:
I feel ready for the Champions League—I have matured. I think it’s the right time to make the leap. I want to get there, even before the World Cup. Roma? It’s no secret to go back to where I grew up. Now it's a dream, but also it's a goal to go to Juventus.
With Torino purchasing the other 50% of his playing rights from Fiorentina in June they have the outright option to sell him in January should thy wish - and those rumours again picked up momentum over the past week or so.
It was reported that Cerci had clashed with his Head Coach at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, Giampiero Ventura, after being substituted at half-time in the recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of Parma.
With that in mind the apparent link with the Premier League as well as Serie A clubs such as Roma, Juventus, Parma and Inter Milan.
However Cerci has made it very clear that he is perfectly happy at Torino.
The 26-year-old took to his Facebook account to vehemently deny a wish to leave and any problem with his manager:
"Silence is often the best answer, but after all the nonsense I have read in these two days I must step-in. Are not you tired of always going in search of a 'case Cerci'? Have to be something wrong? I'm sorry to disappoint you but it's okay, I'm fine, I have no quarrel with anyone. "
