Chelsea were previously thought to have submitted an offer for Guarin’s services, though his current employers were adamant last week interest hadn’t been made concrete.
On Monday Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio stressed the club’s desire to keep the 27-year-old, but conceded the player would be allowed to leave if he wished.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio has now maintained that an official bid is still yet to arrive from Stamford Bridge, with Inter’s patience waning.
The Italian transfer specialist has further claimed that the San Siro giants will only remain willing to sell Guarin until either Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Should an offer arrive by this cut off point Inter will engage in talks with Chelsea for the Colombia international, but will wait no longer.
As such it remains possible that the former Porto man will stay in northern Italy, should Mourinho’s club not act swiftly enough.
Reports have suggested that the Blues will need to stump up at least £15m to entice the Serie A giants into letting Guarin leave for West London.
