Chelsea latest: Braced for €60m bid, RvP to return vs Blues? Courtois gives deadline

All the latest news from Stamford Bridge including transfer speculation, rumours Robin van Persie could return for Manchester Untied against Chelsea & more.

After Chelsea travel to Hull City on Saturday, January 11 hoping to bank the three points that would take them top of the Premier League for at least a day, they have an eight day break until a tasty match-up with Manchester United, at Stamford Bridge.

Considering the disparity between the two clubs in terms of both squad depth, form and points haul after 20 games, United have one thing that Chelsea don't. Well, two. Maybe three - goal-scoring strikers.

Currently, both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are occupying the physio room but by the time Super Sunday comes around on January 18, United may well have a full complement of forwards to choose from.

According to reports, van Persie completed two weeks of 'specialist fitness' in the Netherlands, with PSV Eindhoven fitness coach Arno Philips, but is now back in Manchester to finalise his return.

On the transfer front, Chelsea are used to dominating the sports pages thanks to incessant rumours linking Juan Mata with a Stamford Bridge exit, or Kevin de Bruyne with a £17m-£25m switch to the Bundesliga, however, Paris Saint Germain may well gazump any fee Mata could fetch, combined with the valuation of de Bruyne as they, according to Le Sport 10, are readying a €60m offer for arguably the best Blue of the season to date - Eden Hazard.

Hazard has been an ever-present in the Jose Mourinho era, featuring in all 20 matches thus far, completing 83% of his 862 passes, creating 49 chances, assisting five times, maintaining a shooting accuracy of 65% and netting eight goals, one of which was from the spot.

Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois has given the club a March deadline until he wants clarity over his future. The goalkeeper has spent a multi-season loan spell at Atletico Madrid where he has been excelling while also securing the number one jersey for Belgium, but wants his questions answered.

He told AS: 'About my future, I cannot wait much longer. I need to make a decision with Chelsea as soon as possible, in March, but at the moment I do not really want to talk because there are so many games and you must be focused.'
