Arsenal latest: Positive injury news and Morata speaks

Arsenal Defend Bayern Corner

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates over the past 24 hours.

Arsene Wenger has declared that each of Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are back in contention for Monday's fixture against Aston Villa. He told Arsenal.com that Ramsey and Gibbs have a 'small chance', and he is much more certain on the other two. He has also confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is available for selection.

Reports last night regarding Nicklas Bendtner's return are premature - Wenger said it will be three weeks until he is back in training.

Alvaro Morata has commented on his future, admitting he will consider other options if Real Madrid do not give him opportunities. He has been an unused substitute in the past three games.

Wenger also admits Theo Walcott's injury has accelerated his transfer plans, but not on the right of midfield. He confirmed a striker is where he is looking, but described the market as 'very difficult.'

Arsenal are now the bookies favourites to snap up Diego Costa in the winter Transfer Window. The 25-year-old striker has been banging in the goals for Atletico Madrid this season - after stepping iup to the plate left by Radamel Falcao.

Costa has a reported £32 million release clause in his deal and has also been watched by Chelsea and Manchester United.

Some bookmakers have the odds as low as 2/1 for The Gunners to get Costa.

Bayern Munich have offered their fans cheaper tickets to make the trip to London next month. Arsenal welcome Bayern in the Champions League next month - and the European champions have decided to subsidise their fans tickets.

Bayern fans will now pay £37 rather than the £62 charged by Arsenal for the first-leg tie. The move is expected to cost them around €90k:

"This is intended to represent a small thank you for the great support of the followers in the past calendar year 2013." said a club statement.

Arsenal have allowed striking starlet Chuba Akpom to join Brentford on a one-month loan deal - despite the club facing something of a striker shortage at the moment.

The talented teen will join up with his new Griffin Park team-mates this week and will hope to have a similar impact to the one Wojciech Szczesny had at the club.

Arsenal are however said to be in a war with Liverpool for the services of Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate.

The Senegalese star, who has also been linked with Everton and Newcastle United, has a Belgian passport so work permit would not be a problem.

His agent has stated:

"I have been in talks with representatives from Liverpool and Arsenal over Cheikhou Kouyate.

"Arsenal are very interested in Kouyate. It’s very likely that he’ll be joining a Premier League club soon."

Borussia Dortmund will reportedly make a move for talented young winger Serge Gnabry at the end of the season.

The German teen has become a member of the first-team squad this campaign - and recently shone against Spurs in the FA Cup.
