Chelsea stars Bertrand Traore and Lucas Piazon combined as Vitesse Arnhem defeated German side Wolfsburg 3-2 in a friendly.
Piazon has been one of the stand out performers for the Dutch side this season achieving a remarkable record so far of 11 goals and seven assists from all appearances in the Eredivisie.
He produced a neat little finish to put his side 2-0 up in the friendly after a superb piece of work from Traore, which saw Chelsea’s new signing thread the ball through a crowded midfield area, beautifully into the path of the Brazilian.
Traore has only just signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues and will play with Vitesse on loan for the rest of the season.
The unique agreement and partnership that Vitesse and Chelsea have seems to be paying off big time because if Piazon can continue his good form, he’ll be putting a lot of pressure on Jose Mourinho at the end of the season heading into the 2014/2015 campaign.
As for Traore, it’s a small glimpse of what he’s capable of and there should be much more to come.
