Report: Juventus to sell striker and launch Nani assault

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are preparing to clear the decks of an unwanted striker to allow them to bid for Manchester United's Nani.

Juventus have been repeatedly linked with Manchester United winger Nani over the last few months and Tuttosport believes that the Old Lady are preparing to make their move.

Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte is said to be an admirer of Nani, who is currently suffering from a serious hamstring injury which has kept him out of action since early December.

It had been expected that Juventus would target the Portuguese international in a bid to boost their Champions League campaign, but David Moyes dashed those hopes when Nani started against Bayer Leverkusen, making him cup tied.

However, Juve were to unexpectedly crash out of the Champions League at the group stage and must now focus on Serie A and the Europa League where Nani would be eligible.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are preparing to sell one of Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco, all of whom have struggled to get game time this season, in order to free up capital to pursue Nani.

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta was in London last week to try and garner interest in Vucinic and Quagliarella and reports suggest that Arsenal are keen on the former and West Ham the latter.

It may be that Juve attempt to sign Nani on a paid loan and his current injury woes may give them a greater chance of success.

However, Tuttosport says that Jeremy Menez of Paris Saint-Germain and Jonathan Biabiany of Parma are the main alternatives should Nani be ruled out.
