Victor Valdes has spoken of his 'ultimate dream' at Barcelona before leaving the club.
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has released his ultimate dream according to Spanish newspaper Sport before he calls time on his career with the Spanish champions.
Valdes has shown no sign on performing a u-turn on his decision to leave the Nou Camp when his contract expires at the end of the current season but he’s had some positive comments for Barcelona fans.
Several top clubs have been linked with potential summer swoops for the Spanish goalkeeper including Manchester City and there will be an almighty scrap for his signature when his deal expires.
“It's very important for me to lift more titles and, above all, the European Cup. I'm excited, but I know it's very complicated,” he told TV3.
Valdes is a player who has grown used to cast iron and guaranteed success, which places pressure on any side interested in him to win some sort of silverware this season.
Although he’s admitted in the past that he wants a different challenge, he’s unlikely to go for a move to a club that doesn’t have a very recent record of putting trophies in the cabinet.
The good news for the Gunners if they’re interested in bringing him in alongside Wojciech Szczesny is that they’re well placed on multiple fronts to win silverware by the end of May.
