Arsenal latest: 'Good to be back' says Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sanabria 'will go to Roma'

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to full team training and has been Tweeting his happiness at getting back involved.

He injured his posterior cruciate ligament on the opening day of the season in a 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa.

He has been pencilled in to feature in Arsenal’s Under-21 game on Thursday. He could be back for the game against Fulham on January 18th.

Here is his excited Tweet…

He has also spoke of his dream of playing at the World Cup in Brazil next summer:

“If I was able to be selected and go to Brazil it would be a dream come true and something that I'm definitely striving towards.”

Arsenal have missed out on Paraguayan striker Antonio Sanabria. It is believed Arsenal met the player’s £3million release clause to take him from Barcelona - but the 17-year-old has made it clear he is going to Serie A:

“I will go to Roma. I can’t play for them for six months so I will soon go on-loan to another Serie A team. Roma have already paid the money that Barcelona requested.”

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been named the German Footballer of the Year for the third year in a row. He beat out competition from Bayern Munich treble winning pair Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller.

He told German reporters:

“This election makes me proud and happy. Above all, because it was carried out by the fans.”

Tomas Rosicky has been speaking about Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League this season. The Czech Republic midfielder has been superb over Christmas - and he believes the experience in the squad will take them all the way:

"This team has more experience than it did in the past. We have Mertesacker, Ozil, who won things in Madrid and the other experienced boys like Mikel Arteta and Flamini. Plus the English boys are not kids anymore; they gained experience through the years of playing here so that's why I think we have the maturity to do it this year."
