Agent confirms African’s Arsenal and Liverpool talks – 'likely he’ll be joining a Premier League club soon'

Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate looks set for a move to England, with his representative stating he has spoken to two main suitors.

Anderlecht’s young team full of talented stars is in grave danger of being raided this January transfer window, with a host of players from the Belgian side linked with moves to bigger clubs.

One of the star names at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium is powerful central defender Cheikhou Kouyate, who has been catching the eye his commanding performances of late.

The Senegal international has been linked heavily with Arsenal in recent times, but it appears that Liverpool are also keeping track of the versatile African.

Kouyate’s agent Saffet Balkan has stated that he has been in contact with both of the Premier League giants, and expects his client to be playing in England in the near future.

“I have been in talks with representatives from Liverpool and Arsenal over Cheikhou Kouyate,” the agent told Turkish-Football.com.

“Arsenal are very interested in Kouyate. It’s very likely that he’ll be joining a Premier League club soon.”

Kouyate can also be used as a defensive midfielder, which will appeal to both Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers.
