Manchester United consider €20m plus Pjanic?

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has been identified as a transfer target for Manchester United.

According to Bosnian journalist Mirza Dautbegovic, Manchester United have submitted a bid for the midfielder, with the Bosnian reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League champions.

Pjanic, a 23-year-old central midfielder, has been in inspired form this season and had previously helped Roma to a 17-game unbeaten run at the start of the season until Sunday’s 3-0 loss at Serie A leaders Juventus.

The Bosnian international made the move to the Italian capital in 2011 in a bid worth €11M. The midfielder has provided the perfect partner for the defensive minded Daniele De Rossi and combative midfielder Kevin Strootman as the midfield trio have been the backbone to Roma’s sudden rise.

In the 17 Serie A starts so far campaign, Pjanic has contributed with three goals and four assists, picking up three man of the match awards in the process. The midfielder clearly has an eye for goal, recording 42 shots in total – 10 more than next best Adem Ljajic

The midfielder has also shown how comfortable he is in possession, averaging 62.2 passes per game with a completion rate of 87.7% - second only to Daniele De Rossi

It has been well documented where Manchester United’s problem lies, as their central midfield area lacks both cohesion and creativity. David Moyes has ran the rule over many other midfielders – including Pjanic’s midfield partner Daniele De Rossi.

However, without much luck, Moyes now seems to have turned to the Bosnian as the ideal man to help Man Utd recover in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League.

Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini has already already confirmed that the Italian side have rejected several offers for Pjanic - SkySports reporting:

"We have had many offers for Miralem," sporting director Walter Sabatini is quoted by the Gazzetta dello Sport. "And not necessarily from PSG."

Nevertheless, with Roma’s recent interest in Manchester United fullback Buttner, perhaps a deal isn’t too far away and Man Utd can finally look forward to seeing a new creative midfielder – or would this be a Pjanic buy?

Would Miralem Pjanic be good buy for Manchester United?
