Reported Manchester United and Arsenal target Angel Di Maria may have recieved some playful support after the incident that prompted allegations of disrespect.
Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria was in hot water following his substitution against Celta Vigo on Monday, grabbing his crotch in what appeared to be a gesture that indicated his displeasure at either the decision to replace him with Gareth Bale, or the response of the fans to his removal.
But speaking after the match, the player who has been linked with the Bernabeu exit said he meant no disrespect, and in fact the action was simply to sort himself out, as it were.
"It wasn't towards anyone," he told Spanish newspaper AS. "I was just uncomfortable and I kept on running."
And now another player has seemingly had his say, in a subtle way, with Di Maria's teammate Sergio Ramos tweeting a picture of himself standing next to an image of Michael Jackson...grabbing a certain part of his body in what was something of a trademark-move for the King of Pop.
Coincidence? Possibly. But with Ramos referring to the match in his tweet, perhaps it was also a playful indication to the fact that Di Maria's actions really were nothing more than a misunderstood wardrobe malfunction.
I hope you've had a nice Reyes day. 3 more points for us and let's keep going. Good night..!! pic.twitter.com/fg4jx2xZdn— Sergio Ramos (@SergioRamos) January 6, 2014
