The legendary Reds striker has likened Jordan Rossiter to the current Anfield skipper.
With Steven Gerrard ageing and the club reportedly looking for his long-term replacement over the last number of transfer windows, a star in the making may well be ready to take over from the midfielder in the future.
Robbie Fowler has been signing the praises of Jordan Rossiter – the 16-year-old youth product who is making waves in the age-grade levels at Anfield.
The retired striker has sang Rossiter’s praises previously on social media, and has once more likened the teenager to the current Liverpool captain.
"I have been coaching the U-18 s and U-21 s and I can see a lot of potential,” Fowler said in his column for The Times of India.
“There are a few lads like Brad Smith and Cameron Brannigan who have made the bench.
“Keep an eye on Jordan Rossiter. I don't want to put any pressure on him but he's like a young Steven Gerrard.”
Rich praise indeed for Rossiter, who was named amongst the substitutes for Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea recently.
The youngster has been impressing for the under-18 and under-21 sides, and it seems like only a matter of time before he makes his senior debut.
