Steven Fletcher looks set to remain at Sunderland for the time being as no teams have yet made a bid, according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old is being linked with several clubs in this transfer window including Hull City, but Gus Poyet has not had to reject any advances just yet.

The former Wolves striker only has 3 goals from 16 appearances so far this season but Sunderland are not blessed with many strikers to choose from, especially with summer signing Jozy Altidore yet to hit form.

However, the Scotland international did net a total of 33 league goals in the previous three seasons and the Black Cats would be reluctant to make much of a loss on the £12m they spent in summer 2012.

In other news, Poyet is set to raid his former club Brighton for midfielder Liam Bridcutt, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old is valued at £2.5m although the fee could rise to £5m with add-ons.

Bridcutt, a Scotland international, has been at Brighton since 2010 and made 152 appearances during that time.

The former Chelsea youth player has captained Brighton on occasions this season and would provide a useful alternative to Lee Cattermole in the middle of the park.

Sky Sports are reporting that Modibo Diakite is on his way back to Italy just months after his arrival from Lazio.

The 26-year-old joined on a free transfer during the summer but Verona, Sassuolo and Sampdoria are all interested in bringing him back to Serie A.

However, having started the last three Premier League games, he could yet decide to stay on, with his agent saying: "In Italy, these hypotheses are viable and could be good solutions but Modibo's goal, however, is to remain in the Premier League, at Sunderland or elsewhere.”

Cabral is also being linked with a move to Serie A, according to the Chronicle Live.

The Cape Verde international has not featured since August and Genoa are closing in on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Cabral joined from Basel on a free transfer in the summer, but did not even make the substitutes bench in the FA Cup tie with Carlisle on Sunday.

And finally, Conor Wickham, the striker currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, could make a permanent move to Nottingham Forest for £5million, according to the Daily Mail.
