Chelsea look set to miss out on Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin.
Inter’s sporting director dismissed claims that a January deal was on the table for the box-to-box midfielder as Chelsea look to strengthen their side ahead of the second half of the season.
“Guarin is an Inter player and we are happy to keep him - We are happy Guarin could stay with us for a long time. We don’t have the intention to sell him. He’s an important player,” Piero Ausilio told Sky Sports.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid are ready to pounce for Juan Mata according to the Mirror.
Mata is set to have talks with Chelsea over his future and the La Liga high flyers are thought to be keen on offering him a way out of Stamford Bridge.
The deal on the table would be a loan switch for the rest of the season before talks over a permanent deal in the summer.
Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing a left-back this month but it may not be the Chelsea defender.
