Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Can Spurs pull off audacious swoop for Serie A strikers?

A round up of key transfer stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

The Sunday People has reported that Tottenham are looking at a double swoop for Juventus stars Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella.

Reports suggest that Spurs will be able to bring the pair in for a decent fee, as Jermain Defoe prepares to head to the MLS.

Both players have seen playing time limited at Juve this season with Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez leading the attack of the Italian side.

If Spurs fail in that double swoop attempt then the Daily Mail has suggested Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher as a possible alternative.

The 26-year-old doesn’t appear to be at the forefront of Gus Poyet’s plans for the North East club.

Fletcher is valued at around the £10 million mark with another interested party, Celtic, thought to be prepared to offer just £6 million.

Simon Dawkins has completed a permanent transfer to Championship side Derby County.

Dawkins had spend time on loan with Derby leading up to the permanent switch, scoring three goals in 13 appearances for the club.

The fee being reported is around the £500,000 mark and the player signs a two-and-a-half-year deal.
