Revealed - Simulator shows where Liverpool will finish if they sign main targets this month

A football management simulator has suggested Brendan Rodgers needs to consider other transfer targets this month.

The Daily Mirror has used a football management simulator to assess five of Liverpool’s main transfer targets this month.

Speculation over the business Liverpool will do this month is gathering pace, after Brendan Rodgers confirmed before Christmas that he would be looking to bring in reinforcements to his squad this month.

Although Rodgers’ side have seen their Premier League lead and position slip, they remain well in the hunt for the title and a top four spot at the very least.

Here are the five names the football management sim assessed.

Danny Ings (Burnley – Rated at a fee of around £9 million - 5th)

Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim – Rated at a fee of around £12.5 million - 7th)

Ivan Rakitic (Sevilla – Rated at a fee of around £8 million - 4th)

Ola Toivonen (PSV Eindhoven – Rated at a fee of around £7.5 million - 3rd)

Mohamed Salah (FC Basel – Rated at a fee of £8 million - 4th)

Those are five names being regularly connected to Liverpool at the moment but five names that won’t make a difference to Liverpool winning the Premier League title according to the latest version of football manager.

With each of these players coming in alongside the current squad, the highest finish Liverpool obtained according to the Mirror study was third when they brought in Toivonen from PSV.

You can trust Brendan Rodgers’ judgement or you can trust a computer game.
