Kalou is currently playing for French side Lille, and the report indicates Kalou would be available for around £2.5m. Tottenham are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old.
Reports keep circulating about Liverpool's interest in Milton Keynes Dons starlet Dele Alli. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was said to be in attendance to watch the youngster during MK Dons 3-3 draw with Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday.
As far as Liverpool’s progress in the FA Cup goes, they’re into the fourth round of the competition after a 2-0 win against Oldham Athletic, where striker Iago Aspas found the net for the first time in a red shirt, and Kolo Toure has told the Liverpool Echo that the goal will ‘change him’ as the Spaniard will now look to establish himself.
Toure said: ‘Aspas did really well and we are all really happy for him.
‘He hasn’t played many games since he came here but he scored a great goal for us.
‘It’s very important for a striker to score goals. Their confidence comes from scoring goals.’
Rodgers agreed with Toure in his post-match press conference, but mentioned he was hoping to get the win without the intervention of Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez – who came on as substitutes.
‘He’s [Aspas] been the cover player a lot of this season, apart from the opening period. It was good for him to get his goal in front of the Kop and hopefully that will give him a lot of confidence.
‘You hope in games like this to rest a number of players and give them that recovery period. Lucas and young Coutinho, and a few others, have played hard games all over the Christmas period. The ideal scenario was to let them recover, but we also wanted to win the game.’
