TWEETS: Lescott hits out at City fans after criticism

The England international has stated that a small group of fans verbally abused him during the 1-1 draw at Blackburn.

Joleon Lescott’s time at Manchester City seems to be heading to an end, with another reason to suggest that an Etihad Stadium exit could well be on the cards.

The England international was at fault for Scott Dann’s equaliser for Blackburn in City’s 1-1 draw at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The former Everton centre-half was given a rare opportunity to play by Manuel Pellegrini, and lost his marker from a corner for the hosts’ goal.

Lescott did not applaud the travelling support after the draw, and has revealed that it was because he had received abuse from a contingent of the City fans.

The defender has stated that it was a small group of the away support, but that he could not condone their comments.

Given Lescott performance in the disappointing draw and the continued rumours of a move away from the club, it looks like the England man could be on his way this January.
