Manchester United have reportedly held preliminary talks with Dinamo Bucharest for wonderkid Dorin Rotariu

According to reports from Romania, Man Utd have bid £3 million for winger Dorin Rotariu over the possibility of a deal in January.

The 18-year-old started his career playing for ACS Poli Timisoara, however the lively winger didn’t feature and was loaned out to fellow Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest. As a 17-year-old, he made his Liga 1 debut and performed well.

In the summer of 2013, his loan spell at Dinamo had finished, but so had his contract for parent club ACS. Becoming a free agent, the youngster had plenty of options but opted for a return to Dinamo Bucharest, signing a six-year deal in the process.

So far this campaign, Rotariu has made 17 appearances, scoring five goals and providing many more.

He is known for his powerful left-foot strike and shooting accuracy - attributes that have seen him dubbed 'Van Persie' by his team-mates.

So could he join RVP at Old Trafford?

Manchester United have watched the player, and manager David Moyes wants to make negotiations as swift as possible and bring the player to Old Trafford before other big clubs become aware of his talent.

Manchester United aren’t likely to think the player is ready for the first team, and with fellow wingers Nani, Ashley Young, Adnan Januzaj, Antonio Valencia and arguably Giggs it would be difficult for the youngster to make any sort of immediate impact.

Nevertheless, with the impressive performances from Adnan Januzaj,  who was relatively unknown before this season, then there is hope that the Romanian youngster could provide Manchester United with that missing spark which has seen them slip out of the European places.
