Transfer talk: Featuring Coentrao, Suarez and Luiz

David Luiz Warm Up

Transfer news from Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Derby County.

Bayern Munich have played down speculation linking them with a move for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

The Brazilian international has lost his place in the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge to Gary Cahill - and is also being linked with a move to Barcelona.

However Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says they are not looking at the player:

“There's always lots of speculation and it's extreme in England, but I can say for certain that he is not an issue for us.”

Aston Villa are again being strongly linked with a move for Belgian international Steven Defour. The Porto man, who has struggled for first team football this term, wants to play regularly ahead of the upcoming World Cup - and his agent has confirmed Villa’s interest:

“He needs to be playing regularly and Aston Villa are interested.”

Reports suggest that Liverpool will now look to bring in talented Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla - after Derby County made it clear that Will Hughes is going nowhere this winter.

Liverpool have long been linked with the talented Englishman but Rams chief executive Sam Rush says he is going nowhere:

"Will is best placed in Derby. There is a huge amount for him to achieve here and I don't feel commercially it is the right time for us to entertain any other discussions."

Luis Suarez is reported to have a £70 million release clause in his new contract.

The Uruguayan recently signed a new deal at the club but it is reported that if Liverpool do not make the Champions League this season - his reported £100m exit fee will drop by £30m.

Fabio Coentrao has reportedly been told by Real Madrid that he can leave for £12 million - alerting the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old was a target in the summer so Moyes may be ready to bring him in.
