Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has not even been gone from the Premier League an entire year yet, but he is already being linked with a return.
As always with Balotelli, nothing is ever simple.
The Italian has been under-fire in his homeland for his part in a disastrous start to AC Milan's season which sees them currently sitting in 13th.
Numerous reports over the past month have described him as 'unsettled', and even an improbable reunion with former boss Roberto Mancini at Galatasaray has surfaced.
The Mail has claimed Premier League leaders Arsenal are one who will be monitoring the situation, along with Chelsea and Tottenham:
"Italy international Mario Balotelli could be on his way out of AC Milan.
"His availability will interest Chelsea, Arsenal and possibly Tottenham as they all trawl through the options to boost their strike force."
When a player of Balotelli's talent enters the market, its natural teams competing for top places in their respective leagues start paying attention, especially one who has proved himself in the division before.
The big question over Balotelli is his temperament and unpredictability on and off the field.
It's easy to say he is the type of character Arsene Wenger would shy away from, but this was thought about Luis Suarez - who he attempted to sign over the summer.
Chelsea's interest and the possibility of him being reunited with Jose Mourinho from their tempestuous Inter Milan days is another fascinating one.
We'd still be surprised if Balotelli left so soon, and didn't stick it out until the summer in the country he is representing at the World Cup in June - but with 'Super Mario' we have all learned by now nothing is ever predictable.
