Just when Manchester United fans thought they were well and truly over their early season wobbles, along came Tottenham to halt their revival. But David Moyes will take heart from the way his side played on New Year’s Day, and will know the cups offer the best chance of him holding silverware aloft in his first season in charge.
Swansea’s record at Old Trafford is not the best, with the Welsh side visiting 10 times and managing just two draws in that time – the last back in 1934.
United are without the injured trio of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, while the Swans are unable to call on Michu, Michel Vorm or Nathan Dyer.
This should be a relatively comfortable afternoon for the league champions, but Old Trafford is becoming something of a testing place for them and they are looking far more comfortable on their travels, so who knows what may happen this afternoon?
What do you think the result will be today?
