Manchester United fans are becoming extremely familiar with the name Koke.
In the summer, the Atletico Madrid midfielder was barely mentioned as the Premier League champions navigated the tricky transfer window waters.
But now the 21-year-old is seemingly at the top of their wish-list. And that is no surprise.
Prior to today, the Atletico Madrid midfielder had made 17 La Liga appearances, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.
He also featured in all six of his club’s Champions League group matches, adding another assist to his name.
United have been tipped to make a £30million bid for the player this month, with some reports claiming David Moyes' club currently has representatives in Spain attempting to negotiate a deal.
But those reports have clearly not affected the player, who started this afternoon’s match against Malaga and scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute.
During the match, Koke had two shots (both on target) played two key-passes to set up goal-scoring chances for a teammate and had a pass-completion rate of 80%. His goal was a calmly taken effort after the ball broke to him in a crowded and disjointed penalty area.
In short, it is no wonder United are reportedly in for the player.
But given both his and his current club’s form, it would be a considerable surprise if United somehow manage to sign him this month.
