Portuguese winger Nani has often been overlooked this season as Manchester United manager David Moyes still tries to work out his best team. Nani has made just five Premier league starts for the Red Devils and the 27-year-old seems firmly behind Antonio Valencia and Adnan Januzaj in the pecking order.
Serie A side Juventus have been linked with the winger over the last couple of months and according to Italian paper Sport Mediaset, the Old Lady sent general director Giuseppe Marotta over to London to negotiate a deal. Manchester United have reportedly set a £16m asking price, however it is unsure whether Juventus want to buy the player outright or try and do a deal.
Juventus’ interest in the player is of great interest to Manchester United, as the Premier League champions also have their eye on Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. General manager Giuseppe Marotta spoke to skysports in the summer of his desire to keep the player, linking his ability to that of Gareth Bale
"If (Real Madrid's Gareth) Bale is worth 100million euros, Vidal is also worth that figure,"
"Vidal is a great player and this summer Real Madrid showed an interest in him but we turned it down. Selling him is simply out of the question."
However, with Juve’s interest in Nani apparent, then negotiations will have started regarding Vidal possibly heading the other way.
The Mirror have reported Manchester United’s interest in the 26-year-old, with the Old Trafford side in desperate need of a world class goalscoring midfielder. The Chilean international has been in sensational form for the Turin-based side this season, making 14 Serie A starts, scoring seven goals and assisting a further four.
Whilst a straight deal for Arturo Vidal seems unlikely given the player’s price tag and the fact he recently signed a new long-term deal, it is reported however according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport that he could be persuaded by a big money offer.
Manchester United’s David Moyes has admitted that he has money to spend, Juventus want winger Nani, and therefore perhaps a blockbuster transfer isn’t totally out of the question.
