Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has been linked with a move to Arsenal once again. The Brazilian born Spanish striker has a £32 million buyout clause in his new contract signed in the summer - and along with Chelsea The Gunners are said ready to exploit it.
Liverpool failed in a move for the player in the summer but now Arsenal - who are currently without injured duo Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner - are said to be the favourites for his signature.
One stumbling block would be the recently naturalised Spaniard’s wish to go to the World Cup in 2014 - which could be hindered by his decision to leave his adopted homeland for London.
Arsenal have reportedly been told by Juventus that the only deal they will consider for their Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic is a permanent one.
The 30-year-old forward was apparently the topic of discussion when Gunners chiefs met with Juve general manager Beppe Marrota in London recently.
And he informed Arsenal, and North London rivals Tottenham, that Vucinic was only leaving on a permanent deal - with an £8 million price-tag said to be enough to get the former Roma striker.
This morning has seen many people pick up on the fact a picture was posted on the official Dimitar Berbatov Facebook page of the Bulgarian star next to the caption ‘Could fire Arsenal to the title’.
However, despite the page being his official domain on the social network, Fulham’s director of communications Sarah Brookes confirmed via Twitter that the striker does not run the site - and this was certainly no come and get me plea.
Arsenal could be set to hand young German Gedion Zelalem his senior debut in the FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The 16-year-old could come in to cover a thin looking, injury ravaged Arsenal side.
Meanwhile Lukas Podolski is expected to remain playing through the middle.
